JAA (European) Private Pilot’s Licence
Everyone must learn in a single engine aircraft which would enable the student to acquire a licence that allows the holder to fly single engine aircraft only. After gaining experience a multi engine aircraft rating is also a possibility. Training for The Private Pilot’s Licence enables the student to gain a licence at their own pace. The Civil Aviation Authority specifies that a minimum of 45 hours flying training must be completed before issuing a licence of which 10 hours must be solo time. Although this is only a guide and must not be mistaken as standard, the actual hours it takes a person to achieve a licence depends on various factors such as personal aptitude for flying and frequency of lessons. The course does not have to be completed within a specific time limit and the time taken is down to the individual. Our instructors follow a CAA approved syllabus with structured training to meet the needs of the individual. A CAA Class 2 Medical Examination must be passed before any solo flying. Medical examinations can be taken locally by an approved aviation medical examiner and must be renewed at regular intervals depending on your age.

After completing your communications written exam a practical exam must be taken to gain your Flight Radio Telephony Operator’s Licence.
When the pilot’s skill has met the required standard and all written exams have been passed it is necessary to take a skill test with a CAA approved examiner which confirms that the student has met the required standards in both skill and safety
